  • Lisa Fox-Thomas, Ph.D., CCC-A is an Associate Professor of Audiology at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG). She is a clinical audiologist and Coordinator of Audiology Services at UNCG Speech and Hearing Center. Dr. Fox-Thomas received a Ph.D. in Communication Disorders from the University of Virginia in 2003.  She also graduated from UNCG with a master’s degree in Audiology and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies and Psychology. In addition to teaching at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral level, Dr. Fox-Thomas conducts clinical research that has received national recognition. She also has been an invited presenter at local, state, and national conferences.    
     
    Dr. Fox-Thomas specializes in auditory processing disorder, tinnitus, and sound sensitivity disorders including hyperacusis and misophonia. She has worked with more than 80 children and adults with misophonia since 2010. She offers diagnostic testing as well as management strategies including directive counseling, sound therapy, and biofeedback. Dr. Fox-Thomas is a Certified Health Coach and utilizes a person-centered, holistic approach to patient care.
